Dr. Taeng
We all know that Thailand is growing and developing in many different industries. However tourism has always been one of its major industries and Thailand 's visitors are becoming more varied and requiring different types of services.
This month we had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Taeng from the dental clinic in Baan Tai. For Dr. Taeng dental work is not just a career, it is her passion and her way of life. Dr. Taeng feels that her patients are her extended family, who visit seeking advice and help for there dental needs.
Phangan Explorer: How long have you been practicing dentistry?
Dr. Taeng: I have been practicing dentistry since 2000 and I have worked on Koh Phangan for nearly 4 years now.
PE: Why did you decide to work in Koh Phangan?
Dr. Taeng: I, like many people who come here and just get that feeling to stay. It was from my first impression when I visited during a full moon party while on holiday from my university. Phangan is the type of place that people come to enjoy their holidays and life in general, that feeling and the people is what made me decide to live here. So when people are visiting my clinic they are also guests in my home and I try to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome.
PE: Do you work with many tourists?
Dr. Taeng: Yes I do work with many tourists, expats and local Thais. Many of my foreign patients who are on vacation realize that I am a professionally trained dentist with years of experience. I offer excellent service and very reasonable rates compared to what major dental work or even just simple teeth cleaning will cost say in Germany , the UK and especially the United States .
PE: Does your clinic offer any special treatments?

Teeth whitening and dental prosthesis are two of the most popular procedures
Dr. Taeng: Yes, two of our most popular procedures are the teeth whitening and dental prosthesis that look and feel just like your own teeth. Simple procedures will take only 30 minutes. However, some dental procedures or operations will require about 1 week of work to complete. That means some patients will just have to stay and enjoy Koh Phangan for a bit longer.
PE: Any last thoughts?
Dr. Taeng: Remember it is simple, easy and very affordable to make a dental check up part of your holiday. Just do something healthy for yourself during your vacation.
